Baby Weight

My whole life I've struggled with my weight. When I was 6, I remember being told it was just "baby weight". I'm sure whoever said that to me was like, what the HECK is a 6 year old worrying about her weight for?! My kindergarten teacher told me when I was 17 that I used to try to skip lunch when I was 5 because I thought I was too fat.

That's pretty sad.

Long story short, I've had serious struggles and recovered from them. Now, I'm comfortable in my own skin and happy to be me. This is a huge accomplishment.

However, I still want to be healthy and fit and look great! I've managed to lose most of the "baby weight" from pregnancy but still really need to lose 20-25 lbs to be in good shape. I've been feeling depressed about it lately and each time I renew my commitment to monitoring my calories/exercising, I slack off a week later. (Because of my history, I've screwed up my metabolism and I really DO need to watch every calorie- even when its carrots).

-sigh- This is basically a vent post to get it out there. Anyone want to keep me accountable?

  1. I've been tracking calories and exercise (even the veggies) to lose weight and get in better shape. I've had success, but also some plateaus due to low exercise or high calorie weeks. I'd love to support you, and have you support me as well.

I highly recommend a podcast called Fat 2 Fit. They're on iTunes, and also can be found on www.fat2fitradio.com. The men who run it are a trainer from Canada and an overweight gentleman who is in the process of losing quite a lot of weight. They are extremely knowledgeable and focus on healthy, long term weight loss through a healthy diet and exercise NOT the fad crap which everyone else pushes. I'd love to hear your thoughts on their program as well.
